This role is remote — the markets are where we are actively recruiting.

Start my application

Field sales experience translates directly here — the hard conversations, the discipline, the rejection. The Wood Agency offers 100% remote, commission-based 1099 life insurance sales with no territory assignments, no door-knocking, and clients who already asked to be contacted.

What you'll actually do

  • Reach out to people who've already requested life insurance information — no cold lists, no territory maps
  • Set and run coverage consultations over the phone or video, on your own schedule
  • Ask questions first — understand a family's actual situation before you mention a single product
  • Walk the client through their options and complete the application together in real time
  • Follow the file through underwriting and keep the family informed until the policy is placed

Who this is a fit for

  • Former field, direct, or door-to-door sales reps who know how to build trust fast
  • People who hold a state life insurance license — or who are ready to earn one before they sell
  • Self-starters who do the work without needing someone to set their daily calendar
  • Anyone with a reliable home setup: phone, computer, and consistent internet connection
  • People who want something permanent and remote — not a gig, not a side project

What we provide

  • Access to 43 carriers, so every client gets matched to what actually fits — not whatever you're required to push
  • Weekly team call, scripts, and call review sessions available to sharpen your process
  • 1:1 mentorship and ride-alongs available with Ben and Andrea, who still work the field themselves
  • A first-month roadmap: licensed by end of week two, contracted by week three, taking sales calls before the month closes

The honest part

This is 100% commission-based 1099 work — your income comes from the coverage you place, and there's no base salary when the week is slow. If you're coming from a role with a guaranteed draw and that safety net matters right now, this isn't the right moment. If that tradeoff sounds like exactly what you've been looking for, reach out to The Wood Agency and we'll walk you through how the comp actually works.
